The Chief of Bokwaongo village in Buea Subdivision, HRM Albert Njie Mbonde, in a condolence message to the Monono family, described the late Chief Etina Monono as founder of a new era.
Chief Monono, who ascended the Great Soppo throne in 1999, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
According to HRM Albert Njie Mbonde, the death of the Great Soppo Second Class Chief leaves a deep void, not only within the royal household but across the entire Bakweri clan and beyond.
“As you journey home, Bokwaongo is thankful. You came to help us begin a new chapter of our history, and today we see and feel the Grace.”
To him late Chief Etina Monono stand in a better place to tell our ancestors what he left behind.
“Our people’s aspirations and desperation, our renewed momentum, but also the threats to our land, patrimony, and cultural heritage. Tell them to help us win the fight and make our people happy again.” HRM Albert Njie said.
