The Paramount Chief of Limbe, HRM Elufa Manga William, has launched an ambitious project to construct an ultra-modern Cultural Centre in Limbe, valued at FCFA 400 million.

The project was launched on Monday, October 12, 2026, by the Paramount Chief, HRM Chief John Elufa Manga Williams, and members of his traditional council, accompanied by his quarter heads.

The Cultural Centre, which will be located at Limbe I – Mafany Quarters, will feature both a ground and an upper floor.

It will house several facilities, including 1000 seat capacity auditorium and a smaller hall that can seat about 200 people. Besides these, the centre will feature space for a museum, an artefacts and gift shop, a library, and other amenities.

The Paramount Chief was accompanied during the unveiling by Hon. Gladys Ikome Etombi, Member of Parliament for Fako East Constituency.

Hon. Etombi thanked the Paramount Chief for the project and prayed that God would guide them all to successfully raise the funds for its construction in the shortest possible time.

His Royal Highness announced that the first fundraising event for the project will hold in Limbe on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

He noted that the goal is to raise the necessary funds and immediately kick-start the construction of the centre.

Speaking on the significance of the project, the Paramount Chief shared that since his coronation, his dream has always been to revive the culture of his people.

Thus, he stated that this great Cultural Centre will be the place "where our culture shall live, where our children shall learn about it, and where the rest of the people shall come to know Limbe."*

He pointed out that the centre is not being built for him, but for all the people of Limbe. For this reason, he emphasized that it will be open to everyone without exception.

"This project is not about the blocks and the roof alone. It's about unity, it's about pride, it's about preserving who we are for generations to come," the Paramount Chief said.

The event featured a technical presentation of the architectural design of the centre by two architects, Samuel Ngomba and Atud Mackiss.

Their presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session, where suggestions from members of the public aimed at improving the Centre's design were advanced.

The gathering began with a welcome address delivered by the Chairman of the Royal Chiefdom's Traditional Council, Mafany Carr.
