Horror: Female student assassinates, slits own baby's throat in Bokito

A female student in her 20s at Lycée Technique de Bokito has been arrested for allegedly committing filicide. The incident occurred on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Ossimb I village, Bokito, Mbam-et-Inoubou division, Centre Region.

According to local sources, the young woman used a kitchen knife to slit the newborn baby's neck immediately after giving birth.

Upon being informed of the horrific act, gendarmerie officers proceeded to arrest the suspected murderer, who was subsequently taken to a nearby medical facility for a health check before being remanded in custody for questioning.

The suspect has not yet provided any explanation for what motivated her to commit this act, and the circumstances surrounding the killing of the newborn child remain unclear. Investigations are ongoing.
