In every crisis situation, women suffer the most and are also the first to raise the alarm as was the case in the early days of the current socio-political crisis rocking the two English speaking regions of the country. More women are needed in Peace Building processes for peace to last.

Understanding the pivotal role young women play in building peace in their communities, although most of the time subjugated to discrimination, violence, stigma, tokenism, non recognition of their contribution and do not have access to relevant decision making spaces, Hope Advocates Africa continues Sensitisation about the She builds peace campaign with young women in the grassroots communities in Cameroon.

“My advocacy is to raise awareness about the United Nations Security council resolution 2250 on youth peace and security ensuring that young women get the recognition for their meaningful contribution in building peace which most of the time they do not get such despite the amazing work they all are doing while facing the guns of poverty, harassments, exclusion, marginalisation and insecurity”,

“We therefore call on everyone to stand with young women peace Builders in Cameroon, Recognising their work, Ensure their Protection, and secure Funding for their activities .”Caryn Dasah said.
