A non-profit organisation known as Hope of Africa (HOFA) on Sunday, September 28, 2025, donated didactic materials to over 50 schoolchildren of Limbe III Municipality in Bimbia.

The donated materials, which include books, pens, pencils, rulers, and erasers, among others, are aimed at fostering education in Limbe III Subdivision and in the Bimbia clan specifically.

Speaking during the event, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and founder of HOFA, Sarah-Derval Ephosi Lifanda, said her organisation has been carrying out similar initiatives in other communities, so she thought it wise to bring it back to her own village.

She emphasised that her motive behind this gesture is to point out the fact that any other thing can wait but education can’t wait. “You people have to be responsible citizens. You need to be educated, and our little way of helping you is to support you with didactic materials,” she said.

“You need to be solution-oriented individuals. Not just thinking that when I go to school, Government will employ me. But start thinking of identifying the problems within your communities and proposing solutions.” Sarah-Derval Ephosi said.

She added that their main aim is to shift their mindset that the Government will provide everything. She opined that this will never happen. Sarah-Derval Ephosi suggests that as a people, if we come together, we can do wonderful things in our community which will be cherished by many.

“I equally told them to come together so that we can raise the community to the standard that we all need”,

“To the standard that we have seen elsewhere, we have visited and have loved it. It’s always good to bring back home to make things better for people at home. Home is home irrespective of where you’re.” Sarah-Derval Ephosi added.

She urged the schoolchildren to be intentionally studious in what they do and also to be alert to the little gambits people might use to radicalise them to be violent. “Violence doesn’t build but destroys. They should be citizens aiming to build and build better,” Sarah-Derval Ephosi added.

She revealed that her foundation has better plans for children in Bimbia. “We have better plans for children in Limbe III Subdivision which we might not want to disclose for now,” Sarah-Derval Ephosi said.

In his intervention, the Chief of Bonangombe village, Kinge Victor Musuka III, expressed joy with the donation given by a native of Bonangombe village, Sarah-Derval Ephosi Lifanda.

He told the parents who accompanied the schoolchildren to make maximum use of the didactic materials. “Don’t misuse this donation. I can attest to the importance of didactic materials in the life of a school child.” HRM Kinge Victor said.

Parents of the beneficiaries thanked HOFA for this maiden donation in assisting them to send their children back-to-school with didactic materials at a time when they are faced with hardship.
