Organizers surprised by turnout

Reacting to the success of the event, the promoter of the Golden Award, Fah Elvis Tayong, said the turnout exceeded expectations. "We didn't envisage the exposure and we were surprised that it was a matter of dance groups and people in buses leaving Southwest and different areas to come for the event, which took all the organizing committee by surprise," he said.

He said the joy of the Golden Award team lies in its ability to impact lives. "It gives us special joy that we are able to impact lives by celebrating those who are outstanding in their respective domains”,

“We always have a slogan like Peter said in the bible, silver and gold we do not have, but what we have is what we give, which is written on a piece of tablette," Fah Elvis explained.

8th edition goes international

Fah Elvis also announced major prospects for the award scheme. According to him, the Golden Award is now going international.

"We were supposed to get international laureates here specifically from Nigeria, so this year itself we would be moving to Nigeria in a month's time," he disclosed.

He announced that the 08th edition will be held in 2027 in the nation's capital, Yaounde, and will have an international outlook. "The 08th edition will probably be next year 2027 in Yaounde”,

“It will be more of an international one because we have laureates from South Africa, Uganda and other parts of Africa including northern Africa. Our target is that before we get to the 10th edition, we should have worldwide operations," he said.
