Limbe III councillors validate accounts, Mayor laments bad state of road

Limbe III Councillors sitting on Friday July 30, 2021 approved the management and stores account of 2020 financial year. This was during the first ordinary session of the council this fiscal year.


Speaking during the deliberations at the session, the Mayor Nseke Dibotti Luma laments the bad state of road to Bimbia village. According to the Mayor one of the factors that had hinder the council to attain autonomy is the road network.


"Limbe III municipality needs tarred roads. There's no better way to put it. Hotels, restaurants, markets, green spaces, tourist heavens, cultural facilities and all other investments we have envisaged will never effectively take flight unless a lasting solution is found to our road problem." Mayor Nseke Dibotti explained.


He added that the contractor who kept them hostage for the past three years keep toying with the administration and the population with calculated false promises to undertake the project.


Mayor Nseke emphasis that the contractor Renaissance company, has no regard for the Limbe III municipality as administrator, Mayors go to work on bikes, mortal remains are transported on bike.


Presenting the 2020 accounts, the Mayor said the account which emanates from 2020 budget stood at FCFA 810,750,000 while effective collection stood at FCFA 348,481, 401. Recurrent revenue FCFA 105,231,401 representing 30.30% and investment revenue FCFA 243,250,000 representing 52.5%.


Mayor Nseke Dibotti explained that the council has been experiencing unstable internal collections with a slight increase to FCFA 21,355,820 in 2020 as against FCFA19, 223,150 in 2019. He added that the reason for this low internal collection is attributed to the socio-political crisis, the covid-19 pandemic and the poor road network.


The Mayor cited some projects already realised under the Public investment budget, PIB. The rehabilitation of Bonabile road, construction of two Agricultural posts in Chop Farm and Mabeta, the constitution of two boreholes at Mbonjo-Manga Hill and Mabeta, constitution of a hangar at Kange among others.


The representative of the supervisor authority for councils in Fako Division, the First Assistant SDO for Fako, Maryline Yefo assured the Mayor that his worries has been taken into consideration and will be transmitted to appropriate channel.
