Students of Government Bilingual Technical High School Limbe Heating Ventilation and Air condition Department, HVAC, invent a refrigerator worth FCFA 800,000. This was presented to the public on Friday March 10, 2023 during the school “Open Business Days” at their campus in Isokolo Limbe II Subdivision.
Speaking speaking during the event the representative of the Divisional Delegate of the Ministry of Secondary Education, the Chief of service of guidance and counseling and head of mission Tambe Mekole said an "Open Business Days in a technical school gives the public the opportunity to have an in depth situation of technical schools and technical education as a whole.
“Such a day, he holds, dispels fears and ideologies nursed by some parents about the way forward with technical education, which he said is not designed for those considered as mediocre students.” Tambe Mekole said.
He added that technical education is and remains the springboard and backbone of every industrialisation. He said when children leave the school they are self-employed; hence the problems of unemployment and poverty are solved.
“What I realised during this year’s “Open Business Days” is that students implemented exactly what they’re taught during theory. I think by so doing they’ll produce more products in the country.” Tambe Mekole said.
Speaking to Takio Romeo the head of the invention of the refrigerator said the refrigerator is use to preserve food stuff in the positive and negative temperature. He added that things like vegetable, apples, tomatoes can be stored in the positive temperature while meat, fish and others can be stored in negative temperature.
The refrigerator has the capacity to preserve both negative and positive temperature depending on the product. It’s use as a refrigerator and freezer.

We spent close to 800,000 francs to produce this refrigerator. But if we can be provided with the equipment we can produce it cheaper and better for regular household use. We have produced this cold store without the help of the white man and all those people outside.” Binyuy Ruth said.
Bah Emmanuel Fobang class teacher explained that the mini cold store is a sample of the cold store which are use in the market to store food in large quantities for future use. He added that it is a system that enable a user to consume products at positive and negative temperature.
The event was spiced by choral display which gained much admiration from the crowd. However, the 2023 “Open Business Days” has come and gone but stakeholders in the technical education in Fako Division say much still needs to be done to ameliorate the dilapidating nature of Technical Education in Cameroon.
