GBHS Fundong 89/96 batch to positively impact alma mater

Ex-students of GSS, GHS and now GBHS Fundong, GOFEXSA, in Fundong Subdivision, Boyo Division, North West Region, Cameroon, of the 89-96 batch, have taken a firm commitment to positively give back to their alma mater.


The commitment was taken over the weekend during the Annual General Assembly of the GOFEXSA that took place in Bamenda, chief town of the North West Region.

Opening the two-day annual come-together of the 89/96 batch of GOFEXSA, the coordinator of the Bamenda branch, Chia Godwin hailed his batch mates for making it at the event, despite the security challenges.

He thanked the general assembly for having handed the hosting flag during the last meet- ing that was hosted by the Douala branch.


Taking the cue was the Secretary General of the batch Dr. Yoh Eldequin representing the National President Chia Jessy, who was preparing his pre-defence PhD thesis in the University of Buea but had sent a sealed envelope containing his words of encouragement.

She hinted that she was happy with the turn out especially as members came in from Yaounde, Bertoua, Buea, Kumba, Douala and the Fundong home bramch.

She reiterated on the need of unity amongst members in order to uphold the positive values batch members tapped from the school which motto remains "The Heart of Education is the Education of the Heart" several years back.


After a review of last years come together in Douala, members were satisfied with the positive balance sheet as reported by the Secretary General.

During deliberations, members were happy that despite the socio-political crisis rocking the North West Region their alma mater was able to scire high at the just declared results of both the GCE A/levels and O/Levels. Members agreed that the over 20 decks donated by the batch to the school in 2023/ 2024 school year is not enough.

89/96 batch of GOFEXSA pledged in ernest to do more donations to the alma mater at anytime the needful is needed from the school.


Praises were showered to the decidated and hardworking staff of the school eapecially the current principal who is equally of the batch.

Exco mandate renewed

After serious debates the general assembly renewed the mandate of the current executive and because of a work well executed.

The exco is thus renewed for a period of two years as follows: President: Chia Jessy Nkain, Vice President : Cheah Raymonda Secretary general: Yoh Edelqueen Nabi Vice Secretary: Jerome Buford Treasurer: Wainanchi Lawrence Financial Secretary: Diangha Sylvia Socials Secretaries: Ngoh Ben, Gama, Immaculate, Ajuo Albertine Public Relations Officer: Visi Sumbom Tubuo, Sports: Ayeah Lawrence, Advicers: King Exodus, Yong Ivo, Chia Genesis, Ncham Genesis, Chia Godwill.


The annual general assembly was punctuated with a a swimming cmpetition and guided tour of members at the North West Corperative Association, NWCA, where they were marvelled with the processing of the Arabica coffee tea.

The rendezvous was then taken for the South West Region to host 2026 meeting in August.
