Gang I wins Botaland Cultural Festival Canoe race

Gang I is the winner of canoe race organised by Botaland Cultural Festival six edition, they grabbed FCFA 300,000 gang II received FCFA 250,000 and Gang III FCFA 200,000 respectively.


It should be noted that, there were other prizes such as wrestling, swimming, fishing among others.


Closing the two days cultural festival which started on Friday December 17-18, 2021 baptised "Maloko ma Mboa". Organised by Wovia clan cultural and development association (WOCCUDA) end at Botaland village square in Limbe II Subdivision.


During ecumenical service, Rev. Fon Henry told the villagers to be more united that, they should not listen to the voice of the devil and scatter the joy they usually have as one people. He told them that sometimes the difficulties that we go through God is always there to see us through.


Welcoming the population the chairman of the organising committee Mbai Ephraim express happiness that most villagers came with their traditional regial. He added that the festival was aimed to unite the sons and daughters of the village.

He added that this year they went further to bring other vast aspect of gastronomy, wrestling among others. He however said the theme was choosen because they are setting a strong foundation for love peace and unity on which they can build for the future.


Mbai Ephraim however regretted that due to late authorisation of the event most of the activities could not take place. He however added that it only love and unity that can make a better Botaland for them all, while appreciating force of law and order, partners and others for their supports.


Mbai Ephraim said due to the crisis in the country the festival did not had the ambiance as in the previous years and could not be for three days but two days. He is however optimistic that next year the festival will be more amazing.
