On Thursday, August 21, 2025 the Constitutional Council declared Hon. Hermine Patricia Ndam Njoya leader of Cameroon Democratic Union (CDU) winner of a petition filed by the National President of Cameroon National Salvation Front (FSNC) party, headed by Issa Tchiroma Bakery against attributes of it ballot paper used by CDU.

Issa Tchiroma Bakary, leader of the FSNC who was absent during the hearing, before now had accused the UDC of Patricia Tomaino Ndam Njoya of adopting colors, logos, and symbols that were too similar to those of his party.

During the first hearings, chaired by Council President Clément Atangana, the Constitutional Council dismissed the complaint describing it inadmissible.

The Honorable Hermine Patricia Ndam Njoya recalls that the colors of her political party, the UDC, have always been blue, white and gold/yellow since it’s creation in 1991.

“We are not pleased to have reached this stage, because, if it were up to us, such a situation should have been resolved through dialogue and not through pointless litigation For the future, the UDC strongly recommends that ELECAM take clear and firm measures to protect the symbols and colors specific to each political party”,

“This would avoid sterile and time-consuming litigation, taken over by the enemies of the forces of change who distract public opinion and political actors from the essential” Hon. Patricia Ndam Njoya said in a communique.

Speaking to the National President of United Socialist Democratic Party (USDP), Prince Michael Ngwese Eko Ekosso who was present at the Constitutional Council to witness the judgment by the Constitution Council, he said; “The USDP's purpose of being present at the Constitutional Council is enshrined on the passion to see the opposition political actors come up with a Consensual Candidate.”
