Former SDF MP, Hon. Michel Nintcheu calls on president Paul Biya to resign

Former Social Democratic Fronts (SDF) Member of Parliament currently the interim National Coordinator of Political Alliance for Change (APC), Hon. Jean Michel Nintcheu has called for the resignation of outgoing President Paul Biya.
He made this statement on his official Facebook page on Saturday, October 18, 2025. This statement comes barely a week for the proclamation of the results of Sunday, October 12, 2025, presidential election.
As the national vote-counting commission begins its work, MP Jean-Michel Nintcheu has called for the outgoing Head of State, the CPDM candidate, to step down.
“The people voted overwhelmingly for change. Biya must go!" wrote the PCRN MP. Before Jean-Michel Nintcheu, Maurice Kamto, Anicet Ekane, and Mamadou Mota called for respect for the verdict of the ballot boxes”,
"Our country cannot afford the luxury of new violent confrontations between Cameroonians following this presidential election, during which the voters expressed themselves massively and undoubtedly clearly," declared the former MRC president.
It should be noted that, 12 candidates took part in the presidential election. The outgoing President Paul Biya, has been in power for 43 years and is seeking another 8-year term.
