The former Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Fako, and Governor of the South region, Jules Marcellin Ndjaga is no more. He died early Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Yaoundé Central Hospital.

He was a prominent figure in Cameroon's administrative landscape, serving as the Governor of the South Region from February 5, 2010, to October 23, 2015.

Born in Monatélé, Lékié Subdivision, Centre Region, Cameroon, Ndjaga graduated from the École Nationale d'Administration et de Magistrature (ENAM) in 1984. Ndjaga began his career as Prefect of the Kadey Subdivision, Batouri, East Region, in 1992.

He held this position without interruption for over 18 years, earning him the title of "doyen des préfets" (dean of prefects). His appointment as Governor of the South Region marked a significant milestone in his career.

As Governor, Ndjaga engaged with local populations to address pressing issues, such as infrastructure development and economic growth.

However, his tenure was also marred by controversy, with accusations of abusing his power to influence local politics, particularly within Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM).

This led to widespread criticism and celebration among the local population when he was admitted to retirement.

After being admitted to retirement on October 23, 2015, Ndjaga went on to serve as a regional councillor for the Centre Region.
