Fako SDO outlines duties to newly installed Muyuka Divisional Officer

The Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Fako Division Engelbert Viang Mekala on Thursday, August 7, 2025 officially installed the new Divisional Officer (DO) for Muyuka Subdivision, Ngatchou Nzouami Sylvian.
Speaking during installation ceremony which held at the Muyuka grandstand, Fako SDO while welcoming the new Muyuka D.O urged him to fight against ghost towns, drug trafficking, drug consumption, illegal sale of fuel, Urban and Rural crimes, champion effective school resumption, foster hygiene and sanitation, ensure peaceful settlement of land disputes amongst others while emphasising that Divisional officer, has as responsibilities to ensure the supervision, coordination and control in decentralised office services.
Viang Mekala told the DO to ensure the maintenance of Law and Order and execution of laws and decisions of the government. In line with the upcoming presidential elections the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, called on the new Divisional officer to ensure that Cameroonians, who have registered their names on the electoral register get their voters cards so that they can carry on with their civic responsibility come October 12, 2025.
The Senior Divisional Officer, furthermore appealed to the population of Muyuka to collaborate with their new Divisional Officer, placed at their disposal by the Head of State.
The new Muyuka DO, Ngatchou Nzouami takes over from Tanyi Akwo, who has served for 5 years as the Divisional Officer for Muyuka, Subdivision. During the handover ceremony the former Divisional Officer for Muyuka, Subdivision, Tanyi Akwo, was applauded by the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako Division, for championing school resumption, revamping economic activities and fostering peace during his reign as the Divisional Officer for the Muyuka Subdivision.
It should be noted that the new D.O for Muyuka Subdivision, born on July 31, 1992, hails from Eseka Subdivision, Ngong and Kelle Division of the Centre Region of Cameroon, is a holder of PhD in Public Law.
Muyuka new DO, Ngatchou Nzouami was warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Muyuka, Subdivision, Landjnou Njomgoue Lazare, Hon Findi Stanley Mokondo, Parliamentarian for Fako East Constituency, as well as the population of Muyuka, whose environment is gradually returning to normalcy despite the ongoing sociopolitical and economic crisis.
Hon Findi Stanley, on his part lauded the appointment of an energetic person to serve as D.O in Muyuka Subdivision. “To the incoming Divisional Officer of Muyuka, the Muyuka people through my humble self-extend gratitude to the Head of State through the Minister of Territorial Administration for haven re-vitalised the energy to fight against ghost town by appointing an energetic and experienced person as the D.O”. Hon. Findi Stanley said.
The Member of Parliament Fako East Constituency added his voice to that of the Senior Divisional Officer of Fako by emphasising that Muyuka population expects their new D.O to fight against ghost town, fight against all efforts by the terrorists to stop school from resuming and the quest to bring back life to normalcy.
“We promise him our utmost support. The same support we gave to his predecessor, it is the same support that we are going to give to him”. Hon Findi noted. The new Divisional Officer for Muyuka, is expected to focus on fostering peace, ensure effective resumption of schools, amongst others.
