The Member of Parliament for Fako East Constituency and Vice President of the Parliamentary Group, Hon. Etombi Ikome Gladys,

on Saturday, June 7, 2025 spearheaded the maiden edition of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) mini marathon competition organised by the CPDM Cassava Farms subsection.

The competition that was held at Cassava Farms big mob market, brought together over 30 youths who participated in the competition.

Speaking shortly after the competition, the subsection president of CPDM Cassava Farms, Nugang Clement Devalla expressed joy with the turnout despite it being the maiden edition.

"I think the competition has gone through successfully. This is a testament to the fact that Cassava Farms is still alive for our party, CPDM,"

“The competition was organised in honor of Hon. Etombi Ikome Gladys, who has been supporting the youths in her constituency.” Nugang Clement said.

The motive behind the competition was to encourage living together, as prescribed by the Head of State, H.E. President Paul Biya, and to sensitize militants, supporters, and sympathizers about their right to vote.

Nugang Clement added, "This initiative is to promote voter registration and living together, no matter the party to which you belong."

He believed that come October 2025, they would stand behind their president to see that he gets another mandate to continue doing great things for their nation.

The interim section president for Fako I A, Ludwig Makaka Williams, applauded the initiative of the Cassava Farm CPDM Subsection to engage youths in voter registration and encouraged other subsections to emulate.

He urged the militants to stay focused and committed to the ideals of the party and massively register to vote for President Paul Biya in the October 2025 presidential election.
