Editor Noela Bisong pushes KNews publisher to win Best Blogger of The Year

The publisher of Limbe online blog has revealed that he was pushed to win The Best Blogger of The Year award by his Editor, Noela Bisong Ebob. 

He made this revelation on his X platform on Christmas Day, as his Editor celebrated her birthday. 

"I think winning the Victoria International Merit Media award (VIIMMA) is thanks to the push of my Editor, Noela Bisong Ebob, who has been behind me to succeed in the field of journalism, a course I started since Upper Sixth, thanks to my initiator Elinus Betrand," he said.

“My victory as the Best Blogger of the year started since 2010 when I was still in sixth form and fell in love with media work. I dedicated all my time to journalism”,

“I faced a major challenge in my career of journalism until I almost decided to change career," Award-winning Blogger of The Year Prince Simon Kalla narrated. 

The Publisher of online media organ, KNews, Simon Ndive Kalla, has received the award of Best Blogger of the Year at the 2025 edition of the Victoria International Media Merit Award (VIIMMA). 

Reacting shortly after receiving the award, Simon Kalla couldn't hide his feelings. To him, the award is a dream come true. 

"I'm so elevated to receive my second international award. I have worked as a print journalist for over 9 years but only received an award as the best blogger of the year in less than 8 years into it," Simon Kalla said. 

The VIIMMA 2025 Blogger of the Year started blogging in 2017 when he created his first blog, but later abandoned it to pursue his career as a newspaper reporter. 

In February 2018, he created KNews with a team of young reporters in Buea and Douala; their intention was to break beyond the breaking news.

"We at KNews, we try to see far beyond the breaking news, we strongly believe that there is news behind what is seen as news," Kalla said. 

A four-man jury headed by ace journalist and human rights expert, Franklin Kiven, was put in place to evaluate nominees in the media category after submission of their best two articles and reports.
