Dr. Njie Martin, takes over as SW Regional Delegate of Secondary Education

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, a significant transition took place at the level of the South West Regional Delegation of Secondary Education, as Dr. Njie Martin Esongo, was officially installed as the new Regional Delegate of Secondary Education.

He was installed by the Secretary General of the South West Governor’s office. Acha Gilbert Nkwenti, challenged him to work in synergy with colleagues and other administrative authorities in the region.

During the installation ceremony, the Secretary General of the South West Governor’s office, symbolically handed to Dr. Njie the keys to his new office and State car, the round stamp amongst others. After his installation, the new SW Regional Delegate of Secondary Education, pledges to commence work immediately.

With regards to his appointment he recounted that he is excited and grateful to God and to the Minister of Secondary Education. “I am stable and calm, though excited, and grateful to God and to my Minister, Prof. Nalova Lyonga," Dr. Martin Esongo said.

He added the administrative path way is a journey and it has never been a blue print. “I’ll get to work with my collaborators and draw up a good roadmap for the region," Dr. Martin Esongo added.

Dr. Hannah Etonde Mbua, in her intervention, applauded the initiative taken by the Minister for the appointment of a new SW Regional Delegate of Secondary Education.

She equally extended her gratitude to the state for the confidence bestowed on her to serve as the Regional Delegate of Secondary Education for seven years. Her collaborators weren’t left out, as she also lauded their efforts which led to success.

“To imagine that someone stays in an office for 7years is quite remarkable, I think it’s a long time, and it's good that another person comes in. I think the Minister has done well," Dr. Hannah Etonde said.

It should be noted Dr. Martin Esongo takes over from Dr. Hannah Etonde Mbua, who has served as the South West Regional Delegate of Secondary Education for Seven years. Dr. Njie before his appointment as the South West Regional Delegate of Secondary Education, was Fako Divisional Delegate of Secondary Education.

The installation wrapped up with the symbolic handing over of gifts to both the incoming and out SW Regional Delegate of Secondary Education.
