The Cameroon Development Corporation, CDC, has embarked on cultivation of black pepper.

This falls in line with its diversification program earlier announced by the Board Chair of CDC, Hope Sona Ebai with aim towards recovery and sustainability.

According to CDC Management, the black pepper nursery is ready, and planting will soon begin at the designated pepper site in Ebonji Village. “The black pepper project will take off with 5 hectares in the Tombel Estate.” Management added.

It should be noted that the Board Chair of CDC, Hope Sona Ebai once said during a board meeting that “One of areas we want to insist on management is the area of short cycle crops as the name implies short cycle is quick planting, quick harvest, quick returns that can improve the day-to-day liquidity situation we have difficulty in”.
