The once vibrant Cameroonian makossa artist, Monny Eka has died. A former member of the Petit Pays visa-free group, died at about 8am today Friday, February 14, 2025 as a result of stroke in Douala.
He was described as an ambassador of Cameroonian makossa artist and a talented singer. The captain of SANS VISAS from Petit Pays Monny Eka left the scene brutally
entrusted to us by a close one.
A few days ago, he had contacted Salaka exclusively to promote his latest date release titled "Judge and Partie"; a song that is languishing and above all geniusly produced.
“I am in pain this morning, but an artist never dies. May the family be strengthened" reacted Serge Espoir Matomba.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Penda Wokonyi, popularly known as Mota Penda Legrand expressed grief for the passing away of Monny Eka said “A Nightmare and Black Friday to me.”
On social networks, fans expressed their sadness following the announcement of the artist's death. This death is a huge loss for Cameroonian culture.
“OBITUARY: It is with the deepest sadness that the great SANS VISAS family announces the death of Monny Eka, singer artist for several decades in our orchestra after a stroke.”
“We send our deepest condolences to his biological family, wife and children. The funeral schedule will be communicated to you later. PM Zibi de Yaoundé” SANS VISA family announced.
