Creating impact Abroad: Meet Cameroonian born, Queen Drews

Cameroonian born Queen Drews is a popular name in Germany where she resides and work.


Her broad smiles and free spirit is her mojo which no one can resist, but behind this, is her ability to sustain any conversation with piercing intelligence.


No doubt, this has earned her the trust from the authorities of the City of Düsseldorf where she has lived for over a decade.


Queen Drews studied social pedagogy and got a corresponding Bachelor and Masters Degree in Empowerment and politics.


In 2009 she initiated the founding of an association to support and help children, teenagers and families with migration backgrounds in Germany.


The program had a special focus on education and participation in social and political activities in the community.


This initiative of hers, opened many doors as she was able to interact with the cream of senior German authorities in the city.


Awards and prizes for honorary works


Remarkable amongst the awards are :

- Düsseldorfer of the year – category honorary work in 2014

- Federal Cross of merit of Germany in 2021.


She did a lot of networking to achieve her honorary goals and thus she appeared several times on television and Newspapers in Germany with several articles to her credit.


Community involvement


Drews worked for 5 years as a quarter-manager, bringing many parts of the society together, cutting down prejudices and increasing the knowledge about different cultures


She was at one point invited by the Cameroon government where she participated at the FODIAS 2017 as a representative of the Cameroonian diaspora in Germany.


Initiated an exchange-process between the town of Limbe (Cameroon) and the capital-town of NRW, Düsseldorf.


Queen Drews is currently working with the office of migration and integration in the city of Düsseldorf-Germany though she visits home quite often.


Queen Drews a force to reckon with has as a vision to open a multipurpose Center in Limbe, where young people shall be given the opportunity to develop small businesses, further their skills, and become less dependent on others.
