The mortal remains of Fako I A Assistant Secretary General for the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM Fako I A, Motuba John Misodi was laid to rest on Friday, February 24, 2023 at his compound in Makuka quarter in Limbe I Subdivision.
Relatives, friends and a multitude of sympathisers from Limbe and beyond wept uncontrollably for the fallen hero.
During the service officiated by Rev. Isaac N. Ayonghe drawn his inspiration from Psalms 34:18 told the mourners that God is close to the broken hearted. He urged them not to wait for trouble days before they can give their life to Christ which will be too late.
Rev. Isacc Ayonghe told the mourners to live their live worthy of their calling as Christians and be ready to meet their creator whenever he comes knocking. He called on mourners to continue to pray for the late Motuba John for God to grant him eternal rest in heaven.
“He served as the Chairman for Finance committee for 5years diligently, easygoing man and has served 7 pastors of this Church” Rev. Isacc Ayonghe said.
The interim president for CPDM Fako I A the Vice president Ludwig Makaka Williams said Motuba John Misodi was very instrumental in the part activities and has been a militant since in the 90s. He added that Motuba played a very big and vital role in CPDM Fako I A Section.
“His demise has been a great loss to Fako I A and that vacuum as of now we’re unable to look for someone to fit into his shoes.
But God willingly we’re going to have some body as we all know Fako I A is a very big and vital party when it comes to CPDM in Fako Division.” Ludwig Makaka said.
On her part, the Mayor for Limbe I Council Eposi Florence Mbwuye said Motuba John served two mandate as Councillor in Limbe I Council. She described him as very instrumental and adviser to her and other councillors.
“Wether by accident, nature councillor Motuba has gone to meet his creator. Be strong don’t mourn like unbelievers. We’re all strangers here on earth.” Eposi Florence said.
Biography of Motuba John Misodi
Motuba John Misodi was born on November 8, 1973 in Big Nganjo village in Mbonge sub division to Pa Motuba Thomas and Mami Mosaka Bokwe all of Blessed memory. He was the first child of 4. At the death of his father, he moved to Limbe to live with his father's junior brother, Uncle Pa Motuba Henry.
He attended Presbyterian boys school down beach Limbe where he obtained the First school leaving certificate in 1985. he later enrolled at the Government High School Ekondo Titi where he obtained the GCE Ordinary level in 1990.
He transferred to Bilingual grammar school Molyko Buea where he wrote the GCE Advanced level in 1992. He later moved to the University of Jos in Nigeria where he obtained a BSC in marketing. After his studies he got his first employment with the Presbyterian Mission in 1997 as a Marketing Agent for just one year then transferred to the Catholic Printing Press Douala for another one year.
He enrolled in the customs clearing school in Douala in the year 2000-2002 where he obtained a Higher National Diploma in Logistics. With this expertise, he served as a custom clearing Agent in the ports of Douala for 15 years.
His love in Agriculture saw him developed a large palm plantation in Kumukumu village in Mbonge sub division amongst other cocoa farms which he managed on behalf of the family. To buttress his management skills, he participated in the training for National Civics Service Agency for participation in Development.
John Motuba as he was popularly known in the "CPDM" Cameroon Democratic Movement was a die hard militant of the party. He joined the party in the youth wing also known as the Y and later moved to the sub section where he served as sub section secretary General for Mbonjo Motowoh sub section under late Ewane as president.
He continue in the office of SG when a new president was voted into office after Ewane, in the person of Mr. Motomby Henry and served in the same capacity for two terms. From 1997 to 2007. He was elected as councillor into the Limbe I council in the 2020 electoral college.
He was the secretary of the Education Committee before his demise. He was serving in his first mandate as a councilor for Makoka Quarter which he did not complete. He was the assistant secretary general of Fako I A section before his demise. After the coronation of the paramount chief of limbe.
He was officially installed as the Quarter Head of Makoka quarter; the inhabitants of Makoka will always remember him for the many things they benefited from many NGOS (connectivity with outside world), because of his ingenuity and love for his people. He was the distribution manager of MIRA-Co Cement in Limbe and Buea.
An office he held only for about four months. He was married to Cecilia Lokende Motuba with whom they had 2 kids. Bridget Motuba and Faith Motuba. (Massoma) they have been together as a family for about 25 years.
He left behind a wife and two children, relatives, friends to mourn him.
