Committee of Good Friends Association Limbe celebrates 10th anniversary, counts achievements

The Committee of Good Friends Association New Town Limbe celebrated its 10th anniversary on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Presbyterian Church Hall Down Beach Limbe with remarkable achievements and prospects for next year.


Speaking during the event, the president of the Committee of Good Friends Association New Town Limbe, Ashu Joke Paul, said that over the decade, they have shared countless moments of joy, laughter, worries, and many others. 


"We have grown together, supported each other, and made unforgettable memories," he added. He thanked the entire membership for their service, hard work, dedication, and efforts to keep the Association alive. 


"As we move forward, it is important that we stay aligned on our goals and continue communicating openly. There are challenges ahead, but I’m confident in our ability to meet them as a team. Let us keep pushing for innovations, stay focused on quality, and support one another along the way," Ashu Joke said. 


Achievements of Committee of good friends Association


He however, cited some developmental projects carried out by his team over time, including providing didactic materials to Government school Motowoh, participating in community works such as the rehabilitation of roads, supporting church projects (Presbyterian church New Town, Baptist, and different denominations around the Limbe municipalities), giving thanks in various churches, and offering financial support to sister associations in and out of the Limbe municipality, thereby fostering growth, among others. 


Looking forward for the future 


Quizzed on the way forward, he explained that the Association will embark on some priority projects, such as outreach to orphans, providing needed items to children in GS South East community, donating chairs to hospitals, police stations, and some selected government institutions, providing benches to schools in need, touching the lives of widows and widowers in need, and impacting the wellbeing of the elderly in our community, among others. 


To bring these priorities to reality, he invited everyone to join hands with them financially, morally, and spiritually as they continue to shape the lives of others in the community. 


"I encourage us all to share ideas and feedback. We grow stronger through collaboration. Let’s keep the momentum going. Thank you again for your continued commitment and energy to this great Association," Ashu Joke said. 


He appreciated the Association’s Matron and Patrons for their remarkable contributions, which added to these 10 years of achievements. 


"We’re indeed grateful to our sister Associations here present who have partnered with us on this journey; we say thank you," Ashu Joke added.


On his part, the Chairman of the Association, the Chairman of Committee of Good Friends Association, Paco Melville urged the population never to relent to support them knowing that they are active in project execution.


He urged the members to redouble their efforts to make the Association alive and also fish for more members.


Paco Melville reechoed the aims of the Association, that is to assist members in time of problem, carry out corporate social responsibility, promote and encourage self reliance projects, ensure that hygiene and sanitation rules of the quarter are respected.


The Association members shared a common meal while reflecting on how to better empower themselves and to be a blessing to their community where they find themselves.

The day was characterised by fund raising with at least FCFA 10 million was raised with pledges, eggs game, cutting of the cake, purchase of Association uniform, introducing matrons and patrons musical performance among others.


In the days ahead, Committee of Good Friends Association will pay a visit to South East Community New Town, Limbe City Council, Police Stations and hospitals to do a largesse.
