CMA Buea holds ground breaking AGM in Idenau

The members of the Catholic Men Association Diocese of Buea on Sunday, December 5, 2021 rallied at the Christ the King Parish Idenau for their 2021 Annual General Assembly.


During his homily Bishop Michael Miabesue Bibi called on the catholic men and all christians to prepare themselves spiritually in their relationship with their fellow man.


“It is the period of advent, the church is call on convention, and for you to forgive one and another. It’s normal to hurt one another but acknowledge your errors and seek for forgiveness”, His Lordship Michael Bibi said.

He urged the members to continue to fish out members for the Association and to portray love for one another to boost the spiritual unity of the church. He averred that the target should be to get all men in the catholic church to become CMA members.

Addressing CMA members, Ngah Eric, the vice diocesan president said the main goal of the AGM was to evaluate the activities for the year, examine shortcomings, put up a plan of action and concrete resolutions that will not only foster the growth of the association, but equally uplift the spiritual lives of members.

Ngah assured the Bishop on behalf of his peers of their total collaboration and support at anytime their services are needed.

As part of the proposed plan of action for 2021-2024, Ngah revealed that, they shall embark on full scale farming projects for the cultivation of cash crops. According to him it will help them raise money to meet up with their spiritual and social commitment. He urged deanery presidents to enforce the idea within their area of administration.


On the aspect of membership, it was agreed that they will enforce aggressive fishing of members at all levels of the association to meet-up with a target of 2,500 members come 2024.


As a move to boost the spirituality of members, they agreed to create CMA Diocesan choir to animate the liturgy come January 2022 and to equally organise the training of CMA members to take part in the office of hospitality, mass servants and readers’ club.

At the end of the deliberations the following were the resolutions; The CMA Buea diocese shall embark on an income generating project come 2022, There should be no production and selling of gadgets without consultation of the diocesan exco, CMA members are requested not to wear caps during meetings and entering of bars with uniforms, CMA members are encouraged to attend jopasit classes come 2022, Deadline for submission of candidacy files for the post of president and vice is on 5/1/2022 and next AGM shall hold in St. Peter and Paul Parish UB on 13/11/2022.
