In a bid to reinforce traditional governance and improve administrative efficiency within the Monde Royal Palace, the Chief of Monde Village, His Royal Majesty Kwami Beckley Nangoh, has issued a royal decree appointing key personalities to strategic positions in the palace and affiliated structures.
The appointments, dated October 29, 2025, are seen as part of a broader effort to revitalise the chiefdom’s governance, communication, and community development initiatives.
The decision is grounded in a series of legal and traditional frameworks, including Chieftaincy Decree No. 77/245 of 15 July 1977, later amended by Decree No. 2013/332 of 13 September 2013, which organises traditional communities into chiefdoms.
It also draws on a ministerial letter (No.02329/1/MINAT/SG/DOT/SDCT of 20 July 2023) concerning the rehabilitation of fifteen third-class chiefdoms within Fako Division, and Prefectoral Order No. 263/AP/G.37/SP of 16 April 2019, confirming HRM Kwami Beckley Nangoh as the 3rd Class Chief of Monde Village in Buea Subdivision.

Sources close to the palace note that his appointment reflects HRM Nangoh’s commitment to modernising the image of the chiefdom while maintaining its traditional roots. Kalla’s experience and communication skills are expected to play a crucial role in fostering community engagement and preserving Monde’s cultural heritage.
