Cameroonian artist King Soft Touch, six others appointed quarter heads in Soppo Wonganga village

Renowned Cameroonian artist popularly known as “King Soft Touch” (Joseph Litanga Ikome), and six others have been appointed as Quarter Head of Longstreet, Small Soppo Wonganga village in Buea Subdivision.

This is contained in a communique dated Monday, August 3, 2026, and signed by Chief Humphrey Tande Mosenge, Chief of Soppo Wonganga Village, the appointment was made in recognition of Mr. Ikome’s “integrity, leadership qualities, and commitment to serving the people of Soppo Wonganga Village.”

According to the letter, the appointment reflects confidence in theirability to promote unity, peace, development, and good governance within the quarter. 

Chief Humphrey Tande Mosenge said, “We are confident that these quarter heads will serve with dedication and uphold the values of our community. I call on all residents of Soppo Wonganga to give their full support as we work together for the progress and wellbeing of Soppo Wonganga Village.”

Responsibilities 

As quarter heads they are expected to carry out their responsibilities diligently, uphold the customs and traditions of the village, work closely with the Village Chief and the community in advancing the welfare of all residents.

Reacting shortly after his appointment as quarter head Joseph litanga Ikome said, “The joy was to much I got a reflection about preaching peace and love in my artistic work and today a powerful leadership came up for me.”
