The Regional Delegate of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP) for the South West Region, Orock Thomas says Cameroon needs more entrepreneurs.
He made this statement on Wednesday November 24, 2021 at Ombe Eneo training center during a four days capacity workshop organised by Meveo cultural and Development Assembly, MEVCUDA.
“You know from the 60s there have been more emphasis on public service, we all noticed that there’s no gov’t in the world that employ all it citizens and beside Cameroon has past from being a provider to facilitator.
“The Government within the framework of the National strategy plan of vision 2030 Cameroon is fast moving into private sector economic, and when you talk of private sector economic you talk of entrepreneurs because the word entrepreneur goes with business and so on. So actually Cameroon needs more entrepreneur than ever” Orock Thomas emphasised.
Quizzed on what should done to bring more entrepreneurs on board, he said, the role of the government is to create an enabling environment that is why with such capacity building workshop organised by MEVCUDA will encourage young people into entrepreneurship, to become future entrepreneurs.
“People should understand that there’s more emphasis on private sector, so, I’ll encourage the young people to engage into private sector and become their own Bosses” Orock Thomas said.
