Cameroonian and African artists are mourning the death of Ange Ebogo Emerant described as Bikutsi star. He died early Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 3 am following an illness. His remains were taken to Yaoundé Central Hospital mortuary. He died at the age of 72 years old, we learned.
Who was Ange Ebogo
Born on December 4, 1952 in Mfou, by Awae Escalier, of Méfou and Afamba Division, Central region, Ange Ebogo Emerant obtained a certificate and a vocational certificate in carpentry and formwork.
At a very young age, he developed a passion for singing and joined choirs thanks to his exceptional voice. This natural talent led him to the cabarets of Yaoundé and several cities across the country, where he began to make a name for himself.
Ange Ebogo Emerant is the very first Cameroonian artist to be awarded the Grand Cordon National de l'Ordre du Mérite in November 2020.
An “angelic” voice and a nickname that will remain Singer, arranger, and instrumentalist Ange Ebogo Emerant was renowned for his angelic voice, hence the nickname "Angel" that has accompanied him for nearly half a century.
He was a leading figure in bikutsi, he left his mark on the Cameroonian music scene with his unique style and longevity.
