Over 40 underprivileged children, selected from 20 needy families and safe the children alliance orphanage Limbe have benefitted from ‘minimum package’ better still didactic materials donated by the Cameroon Association of English speaking journalist Limbe chapter in partnership with the Nzelle Motanga Foundation.
The handing over of back-to-school materials which took place over the weekend, saw the donation of pedagogic materials such as school bags, maths sets, calculators, exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, a set of hand ball jersey among others.
Addressing school children/ beneficiaries, the President of CAMASEJ Limbe Kuma Mbom Honore said, the gesture is motivated by the fact that the rights to education of children have been jeopardize for the past five years as most children were deprived from seating in classrooms to take lessons as a results of the socio-political crisis in the two English speaking regions.
“CAMASEJ Limbe is therefore calling on parents, teachers and education stakeholders to value the education of their children by making sure no child stays home this school year 2021/2022.’’Kuma Honore said.
The chapter President equally used this medium to thank the Nzelle Motanga Foundation for supporting the association's back to school project and called on other good will ambassador to emulate.
The beneficiaries were mostly primary and secondary school children, expressed satisfaction and promised to study hard in the new school year to pass their exams with flying colors.
The ceremony ended with pictures to imotalized the event.
Honore, however revealed that, the chapter will in the days ahead empowers it members through workshops and seminars.
