CAMASEJ empowers journalists on human rights, conflict reporting in NW, SW

Some 30 print and online journalists drawn from four chapters out of six chapters of

Cameroon Association English Speaking journalists, CAMASEJ are currently taking part in a 3-day workshop in Kribi aimed to sharpen skills on factoring, Gender, Human Rights in conflict reporting in the NW/SW Regions organised by CAMASEJ with support and funded by Canada fund for local initiative (CFLI).


In his welcome statement, the National President of CAMASEJ, Viban Jude opined that, print journalists play a vital role in reporting stories, thereby needed to be empowered with the right skills in their daily reporting.

“We thought it wise to begin with the print journalists, to empower them with the right skills in reporting Gender, Human Rights in conflict reporting in the NW/SW Regions, in the days ahead, those of the audiovisual will also be empowered”. Viban Jude explained.


On her part, the Regional Delegate for Communication for the South Region, Beko’o Bevina Marguerite Solange stressed on journalists to endeavor to verify information before disseminating to the public.

Bevina challenged journalists to reawaken the knowledge they acquired in school and various newsroom.
