A boy has been shot death in Muea, a locality in the outskirts of Buea, during a military separatist confrontation on Friday August 20, 2021, that left the locality in consternation for several hours.
According to information KNews learnt, the young boy went to a roadside makeshifts shop to repair his phone but was picked in the head by a straight bullet which penetrated the container.
The boy who was killed had been hiding inside the phone repairers‘s shop alongside the owner when bullets penetrated the metal container, killing the young boy.
The phone repairer, who preferred not to disclose his name, for security purposes, sustained minor injuries on the back and several items in his shop were either destroy or soaked in water mixed with blood.
He explained that, he survived the incident miraculously as his client drowned in his own blood . In tears, he said “the Cameroon military has failed to protect Civilian lifes in the face of threats from Seperatist fighters and the separatist on the other hand, have turned against their own people”.
The container is said to have been shot at consciously but mistaken by the Cameroon Military who came patrocling in search of separatist fighters. A separatist fighter was also shot dead during the shot out and/ but nothing has yet filtered to reporters on military casualties .
Where, Muea, Buea remained timid on Saturday still Sunday with an uneasy calm reigning in the locality which is known for its insecurities.
Despite, being an economic hub that hosts Buea’s biggest market.
