A woman whose name KNews could not get at press time has been taken into custody by the gendarmerie in connection with the fatal assault of her lover in Ebouh, a village in the Baré-Bakem commune of the Moungo Division, Littoral region.
KNews gathered that this sad incident happened over the weekend. According to eyewitnesses report, the altercation turned deadly when she struck her boyfriend on the head with a pestle.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, as the suspect has thus far refused to provide a statement. While in custody, she has requested to speak with her lawyer.
The victim's body has been transferred to the mortuary at the military hospital in Douala, where an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
It should be noted that this incident is coming few hours after the celebration of the International Women’s Day. Pundits say this is typical violence against men which must not go on punished.
