A tragic incident occurred in Mobile Nkwen, Bamenda III Subdivision as the owner of Binam bar was shot dead by armed men who stormed his bar at approximately 7 pm on Thursday March 6, 2025.
According to report, KNews gathered that, the victim was shot in the stomach and rushed to Mbingo hospital at Finance, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the attack are still unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motives and identify the perpetrators.
This incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks in the North West Region, which has been plagued by separatist violence and armed conflicts.
The community is in shock, and many are calling for increased security measures to prevent such attacks in the future.
Enter wife of the Deceased demanding properties
Pa Binam, as he was popularly known, had two wives one from his own tribe and the other from Nso village in Bui Division.
The wife of the deceased owner of Binam bar has threatened the workers of the popular snack bar, demanding that they hand over all keys, including those to the snack bar, cell phones belonging to her husband, car keys, and all other properties belonging to him.
This ultimatum was issued immediately after her husband was shot, while he was still in the operating theater at Mbingo hospital, before his death was officially pronounced.
The wife, who hails from the same village in the West region as her husband, was overcome with grief and accused the second wife of being responsible for her husband's murder.
The killing of Pa Binam has sent shockwaves across the Bamenda III municipality, as he was known for his generosity and sociability within the community.
Pa Binam was the main supplier of Brasserie drinks in Nkwen Bamenda 3, considered by separatist fighters as contraband drinks. He had on several occasions missed to be killed in an armed attack.
Late year, gunmen attacked his snack bar 'BINAM", fortunately he succeeded to escape, leaving his bar attendant ( Bouncer) by name Dudu, picked up by the gun men and later killed and his corpse dumped a mile III Nkwen Bamenda III.
