Bakweri Youths Association gets new Exco

Bakweri Youths Association, BAYA, now has a new executive headed by Vefonge Samuel Mbene. He was elected on Sunday January 19, 2025 in Buea following a highly contested election.


BAYA’s patron Tata Paul Njie Mafany who flew from Germany supported the election process by honoring the association with physical presence and finance support proclaimed Vefonge Samuel  Mbene winner.

 

The Association will now be headed by President Vefonge Samuel, Vice President Ngoumba Laura, SG Limunga Blanche, Chief Whip Moki George, Social Coordinator Enanga Grace, Assistant Social Coordinator Mafany Alain and Assistant Coordinator Mbende Marcus.


The newly elected executive will manage the affairs of the association for the next two years with a vision and goal to promote the growth and advancement of Bakweri youth.


Past BAYA Presidents will serve the association as the Council of the wise and have as mandate to support the newly elected executive to make BAYA a reputable institution both home and abroad.


BAYA’s patron, Tata Paul Njie Mafany urged the newly elected President and his executive to lead by the servant leadership model which puts service before self.


He urged them to lead by example, listen more, be innovative, and be guided by the following core values; empathy, foresight, commitment, building community among others.


Speaking shortly after the proclamation of results, the newly elected president of BAYA Vefonge Samuel said “It feels good to be amongst the winning team, and to lead this prestigious association. We just ended the elections which was within the Bakweri Youths Association, BAYA”,


“This has shown a great unity and love within our clan. I, the President elect of BAYA and my team will continue the great work of our predecessors .


“We are going to continue protecting and promoting the culture and traditions of the Bakweri people” Vefonge Samuel said. 


He added that they will continue to promote the Molatako spirit as always. “We ask the general public to continue supporting and praying for us as we match towards our 10 years anniversary and building and keeping this legacy for the generations to come which is the end goal.” Vefonge Samuel stated.


Enter vision and mission of the newly elected President 


Vefonge Samuel plans to reinforce solidarity and unity, developmental programs of BAYA Association, promote the culture of Bakweri, improve BAYA relation with external community among others.


In the days ahead Vefonge Samuel and his team will be officially installed into their new functions as the 5th executive committee of BAYA association.
