My Media TV Tiko-based journalist, Moki Regan has made a profound impact in the community through the inaugural Tchombes Kids Football for Excellence tournament, which wrapped up in a thrilling atmosphere over the weekend.
The event not only showcased the incredible talent of young athletes but also underscored the vital connection between sports and education as students prepare to return to school on September 8, 2025.
Under the patronage of Hon. Findi Stanley, MP for Fako East, the tournament concluded with an exhilarating final match in which Real Madrid FC triumphed over Boys Around FC in a dramatic penalty shootout.
The game ended 2-2 in regular time, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats until the very end. In an exclusive interview, Moki Regan expressed deep gratitude for the support he received from various stakeholders, including sponsors, local businesses, and community members.
"This tournament wouldn't have been possible without the backing of our sponsors and the community's enthusiasm,"
“We aimed not just to celebrate football, but to ensure that every child leaves with the tools they need to succeed in school." Moki Regan said.
Each participant was gifted essential school supplies, including books, pens, pencils, rulers, and erasers. Champions and runners-up received school bags, further promoting the idea that success in sports and academics go hand in hand.
“Seeing the smiles on the kids' faces as they received their gifts was priceless. It's a reminder that we have a responsibility to nurture both their athletic abilities and their educational journeys." Moki Rogan added.
The tournament also featured standout performances, with Alain Ngalle earning the title of Highest Goals Scorer, while Arafat Mosamai was named Best Player. Regan hopes that these accolades will inspire the young athletes to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives.
With the support of sponsors such as Tiko Council Communicaty Radio (TCCR) my Media Prime TV, and several local businesses, Regan is dedicated to creating more initiatives that empower the youth of Fako East. "This is just the beginning," he concluded.
"I envision future events that continue to bridge sports and education, helping our children grow into well-rounded individuals." Moki Rogan said.
As the community looks forward to the new school year, Moki Regan's commitment to fostering both athletic talent and academic achievement serves as an inspiring example for the next generation.
