At installation of newly appointed UB officials:

-V.C laments leakage of confidential information on social media


The newly installed officials of the University of Buea have been warned to desist from leaking out confidential information on social media.

The warning was disked out by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea Prof. Horace Ngomo Manga on Wednesday August 25, 2021 during the official installation of some senior officials who were appointed by Presidential Decree on Saturday August 20, 2021.


‘Some suspected highly place University officials for motive best known to them, introduce highly confidential University information to social media platforms for the embarrassment to the University community.

‘This betrayal of trust if not on social media platforms, they choose gutters Newspapers which appears on the stands only when there’s a toxic gossip or some information to destroy, I implore the appointees to join in the fight by using all available ICT tools to unmask the content.’ Horace Ngomo said.

Prof. Horace Ngomo Manga said the University has been performing very well in all its front, called on the newly installed to concilidate this gains, so that the University continue to remain peaceful and resolute focus on the achievement of it objectives.

While thanking the Head of State Paul Biya who has provided adequate security, infrastructure, more academic staff through the employment of 2,000 lecturers to diverse financial allocation to the University Board members, he emphasised that, the Head of State has been responsible for the growth and development of the institution.

The V.C called on University staff to be dedicated in the execution of their duties in order to maintain the standards of UB. Below is the names of the newly installed UB senior staff.

Speaking shortly after her installation, the newly installed Registrar Prof. Bechem Eneke said; I feel very humbled, haven moved as a student here to this position today as Registrar, it’s exciting at the same time, very challenging, I know the task that lies ahead but, I trust that, with the collaboration of colleagues, we will continue with the mission and version of the University.
