Presbyterian printing press, Presprint PLC, on Thursday January 2, 2025 at it courtyard at Down Beach Limbe sendoff 6 of it staff on retirement and decorated them with 14 labour medals; that is 3 gold, 5 silver gilt and 6 silver.
Speaking during the event Fako Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, Viang Mekala expressed joy for presiding over the labour medal ceremony to deserving staff of Presprint PLC on behalf of the Minister of Labour and Social Security.
“We are gathered here today to honor the commitment, courage, achievements of some men and women who have stood the test of time in this establishment”,
“This is an epic event in the life of Presprint PLC which will remain for ever in annals of this company” Viang Mekala said.
He congratulated the General Manager, GM, for the fight against unemployment by recruiting over 200 permanent workers in the company.
“I can assure you that Government is well informed about the impact of Presprint PLC and citizen contribution to guarantee and strengthen security of property of staff, I say well done.” Viang Mekala said.
He used the opportunity to encourage the medal awardee to work harder and urged their peers to emulate their example.
Speaking earlier, the General Manager of Presprint PLC Dr. Ntoko Henry who has been at the helm of this institution for 6 years now said the company was founded in 1991 and was inaugurated in December 1992 by former Prime Minister Simon Achidi Achu
He explained that the company has developed and grown into 8 different departments with a wide range of government institutions doing business with them namely; CDC, SONARA, Ministry of Transport, GCE Board among others.
Been at the helm of Presprint PLC for 6 years ears now, Dr. Ntoko Henry the vision of Presprint PLC has been to develop different departments of the company where they print T shirts, badges, roll-up, umbrella among others
“In 2022, we noticed the gap in the market of fabric printing industry and we felt that printing stood the chance to close the gap and we dealt in fabric printing”
“In March 2024 we started digital printing unit which is also a revolutionary unity, because with d digital machines they can print fabric from one rapper to any quantity” Dr. Ntoko Henry explained.
Quizzed on 2025 goal for Presprint PLC, he said is to grow existing printing services to maximum capacity, automate them, introduce more efficient machines, train workers to function within the context of these machines and also reach out to wider client-base to beyond the band of Cameroon.
Presprint PLC GM decried the ongoing crisis in North West and South West Region and Covid-19 was a great threat to their business and equally sourcing of raw materials, need to replace older machines among others are the major challenges they are facing.
Rev. Che Zebulun Ndifor, the institutional Chaplain for Fako South Presbytery challenged the workers to anticipate the eternal reward for all who is love Jesus Christ.
He also urged the workers who are still in service to work hard to take the company to another height. “Keep the faith for the crown of righteousness which symbolizes the reward and recognition that awaits us in heaven” Rev. Che Ndifor added.
On his part, Epie Flix who spoke on behalf of his peers going on retirement said they baptized their retirement batch as the Rely Team.
He urged those who are taking their functions to continue the same spirit and do better than them so as to keep the company standing tall among other printing companies.
