At CWF diamond Jubilee: Christian Women’s Fellowship told to be steadfast in prayers

BY SIMON NDIVE KALLA The Christian Women Fellowship, CWF, of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, have been told to be steadfast in prayers despite the present Anglophone crisis, Covid-19 and economic difficulties in Cameroon.

The call was made by the moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon on Sunday November 28, 2021 during the 60th anniversary celebration of the diamond Jubilee in Limbe.

In a statement issued by the moderator, Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba said, “Let nothing stop you from continually praising the Lord. Even in hunger, let your hearts praise the Lord. Even in the midst of the Anglophone armed conflict where old men and women, young boys and girls, pupils and babies are killed, burning and looting taking place, rape and maiming happening, kidnapping and ransom paid keep praising the Lord.” He emphasised.

He urged the CWF to praise the Lord even when they face trails; when the future is clouded by so many challenges and troubles.

“In our social relationship and understanding, 60 means “diamond” of course, diamond is one of the most precious stone that those who know it value are ready to kill and destroy others to have this precious stone. Therefore at 60 you’re very precious to us” Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel said.

During his sermon, Rev. Mbame Samuel drawn his inspiration from Luke 1:46-47 captioned his sermon “My heart praise the Lord” told the women that they are diamond and they can cutdown anything that has been standing as obstacle to the church by not moving out of the church but staying in the church.

He implored the women not to look at the wrongs of young girl children but to promote their growth in the lord. “ The CWF are not celebrating some pride, but humility of the women of the PCC in Cameroon, because they have been pacesetter of the church” Rev Mbame Samuel explained.

He urged the women to stand up with renew force, praying to God to cutdown all the bottleneck that can hinder PCC in her evangelistic work. Mbame is optimistic that if the women continue in the same spirit they are going to go far.

The National President of CWF Nkwelle Julie urged the women to involve themselves in the work of God and challenged those to join their folk. “Dealing with women is so complicated, but these women you see most of them their stories have change from negative to positive.

Nkwelle said the South West and North West had grown to an enormous movement among Presbyterian women, both in home-country and abroad in Europe and USA.

“I know the sorrows, the trouble and sadness you are presently going through. In spite of those you have the courage to celebrate to celebrate this diamond-Jubilee as thanksgiving” Nkwelle said.

On his part, Rev. Mokoko Samuel Presbytery Secretary Fako South Presbytery said bringing together CWF from Ndian, Fako South and Fako North it a call for celebration. He opined that they are celebrating the mother of the Church in total humility.
