Writer: Simon KallaSimon Kalla

Cameroon's new automated payroll system, Aigles, has made significant strides since its launch on January 1, 2025.

Minister Joseph Le annnounced on Thursday March 29, 2025 that Aigles has identified 294,498 government workers eligible for promotions, with 198,223 already receiving their promotions and corresponding salary increases

Aigles' effectiveness is evident in its ability to detect promotion backlogs and apply salary increases to the next paycheck.

One notable example is the case of 22 workers who had been stuck at the same pay level for 22 years due to administrative delays. One of these employees saw their salary jump from CFA 247,000 to CFA 374,500 in January 2025.

The system has also helped clean up payroll records by identifying errors and stopping undue payments. Additionally, 450,000 civil servants have seen salary increases as the system corrected previous errors and factored in overdue allowances and promotions

Aigles replaces the previous Antilope and Sigipes applications, merging payroll management and career management into one system.

It provides a range of benefits, including; Automated promotions, error correction, salary increases

Improved transparency and streamlined payroll management.
