President of Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN) Hon. Cabral Libii on Thursday February 20, 2025 convened a crisis meeting with key party leaders in Adamaoua, Yaounde to reassess the party's strategy ahead of this year's presidential election billed for October.
Quizzed on the aim of the gathering, Libii said the goal is to find the right formula to continue their activities ahead of presidential election.
He added that the meeting's urgency stemmed from a recent ban on PCRN activities in the Adamaoua region.
It should be noted that, Libii had been conducting a political tour, presenting and signing copies of his book, "Ce que j'ai vu! Manifeste de la rupture et du progrès," which outlines his vision for the country.
However, Adamaoua Governor Kildadi Taguiéké Boukar halted the tour on Saturday, February 15, 2025 acting on instructions from Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji.
KNews gathered that the Governor directed the prefect of Djerem department to prohibit PCRN activities within his jurisdiction. PCRN lawmaker, Rolande Ngo Issi criticized the decision, questioning its rationale.
She noted the party had successfully held events across all five departments of Adamaoua until gatherings in Ngaoundal and Tibati, the main towns in Djerem, were abruptly banned without explanation.
"Just the day before in Meiganga, we had a huge turnout for the book signing," she said, highlighting public interest in Libii's proposals for the October election.
KNews later gathered that PCRN members fear further restrictions on the promotion of Libii's book, which serves as a campaign manifesto.
His team is now considering a more discreet communication strategy to navigate the increasing administrative obstacles.
