After State backing: Bokwaongo Chief-Designate calls for unity

Last Monday, April 7, 2025, the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Fako Viang Mekala, signed a prefectoral order validating the choice of the kingmakers of Bokwaongo village made on Wednesday March 19, 2025.

Th communique from the SDO reads; “It is confirmed from 19 March 2025, the designation of Mr. NJIE MBONDE ALBERT, as third (3rd) Class Traditional Ruler of BOKWAONGO VILLAGE in BUEA Sub-Division, done in accordance with the statutory procedure in replacement of Chief MOLUA MESSE ELKANA of late”

“That Mr. NJIE MBONDE ALBERT shall not benefit from the advantages provided in articles 22 and 24 of Decree No. 77/245 of 15 July 1977 organizing Chiefdoms modified and completed by Decree No. 2013/332 of 13 September 2013” the communique stated.

Reacting on Friday, April 11, 2025 Chief-designate of Bokwaongo village said; “I use this opportunity to call on all in Cameroon and our diaspora community who share in the values of Bokwaongo to join me in shaping a new course of unity, peace and development”,

“The euphoria with which you greeted my designation tells me that I can count on you. My dear people, I accept this responsibility with humility, love and without any rancour”. HM Chief-designate Albert Njie said.

He added that empowering the youths will be one of his major priorities; “Today we continue from where our elders left, we have youths to orientate, women and to empower and the entire community to inspire. 

“I have no doubt, that in less than no time we will handle our problems and solve them progressively. The hurdles may be many but together we shall cross them”. HM Chief-designate Albert Njie said.

He opined that his determination to lead by example is unwavering, “my commitment to build is unshakable and my desire to see us succeed is unbreakable”,

“Let’s keep the faith and work for the good of our lovely Wokpaongo.” HM Chief-designate  Albert Njie stated.
