CAF Boss Patrice Motsepe says there was never a doubt about Cameroon hosting the African cup of nations next year. The South African business magnet was reacting to media reports suggesting Algeria and Morocco are been lined up as Plan B if Cameroon is once again strip off the rights to host the biannual soccer showpiece. Addressing the issue during the draw for the 2021 AFCON, Patrice Motsepe said there was never a plan B.
”Cameroon was the Plan A, B and C. There is no other plan. And tonight we are here to show the world that indeed we will all make the people of Cameroon proud and will make the people of Africa proud,” Motsepe stated
The goal he insists has always been to work in synergy with authorities in Cameroon towards hosting a successful tournament.
President Motsepe statement has put to bed media speculations and confirmed the Cameroon is on track to host the continent. However, the new CAF Afcon format to take place in Cameroon has its teams and groups know already.
