The Governor of the South West Region Bernard Okalia Bilai has called on all stakeholders in the City of Limbe to put hands on deck, so as to assure the continuous cleanliness and beauty of the city ahead of 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, Bernard Okalia Bilai was speaking during a working visit to the Town of Friendship on Friday November 26, 2021.
The South West Boss came in working mode as his first stop at Down Beach saw him personally taking part in cleaning the shores of cabbage and other polluting materials.
The population including administrative and municipal authorities of the city, happily joined in the commendable gesture that left Down Beach sparkling just a few minutes later. From here the South West Governor took the destination of Karata which is a major round about that leads to the Limbe Limbe Omnisport Stadium.
At Isokolo, Okalia cautioned roadside fuel vendors and makeshift garage owners to organise themselves or move away from the main roads.

The working visit of the South West Governor took him along the main entrance of the Omnisport stadium. Here, he instructed the Limbe City Council to make sure all the huge containers grounded there, be removed for security reasons.
A stop over at the Limbe Regional hospital was next. Here, Bernard Okalia Bilai went to the recovery beds of some young students who were survivors of the recent attacks in GBHS Ekondo-Titi. He shared his compassion with the young scholars who were positively responding to treatment. He wished them quick recovery and assured them of government's full support.
In all, the visit was productive with directives given for cleanliness to prevail during the AFCON.
The Limbe City Council gave assurances to do the necessary assistance to keep the town clean just like other major sports jamborees such as the 2016 Female AFCON and the 2020 CHAN.
