AFCON 2021: COCAN disconnects itself from fake recruitment of volunteers

76 days to the official kick-off of the long awaited 33rd edition of the TotalEnergies African Nations Cup, some persons of ill-faith have taken the intiative on social media to dissemination falseful information on the recruitment of volunteers prior to the soccer Jamboree to run from January 9 to February 6, 2021 in Cameroon.


In abide to clarify public opinions, on the falseful recruitment by COCAN, the Competition's Director, Mister Dissake Mbarga on October 21, in a radio communique has declared the recruitment process to be of fake news.


And hereby reminds the Cameroonian public that no recruitment has been launched so far and no Order has been signed by the minister of Sports and Physical Education relating to that.


The fake news comes up at a point in time, marked by the inspection of some major sports and leisure infrastructures, in Limbe, Bafoussam, Garoua, Buea and Douala by the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh accompanied by a delegation of former footballers and some senior Administrators.


Some CAF officials and the Minister of Sports and Physical Education will be signed a join agreement on Friday October 25 confirming the hosting of the TotalEnergies AFCON in Cameroon.


“The recruitment of volunteers has not yet been launched and that when the time comes, an official statement signed by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, President of COCAN 20-21 will establish the related modalities’’ Prof. Narcisse Kombi reassured the public.
