The second edition of the All South West Youth Conference has been scheduled for Friday, July 18, 2025, in Buea.

This information was made public today, May 27, 2025, by the President of the South West Youth League (SOWEYOL), Esua Kisito Mbong.

The conference, organised by SOWEYOL, aims to bring together youths from all six divisions of the region.

In an exclusive interview with KNews, SOWEYOL’s president, Esua Kisito Mbong stated, "We have to ensure our region remains calm before, during, and after the presidential election and the subsequent municipal and legislative elections next year”,

"That's the idea behind the conference. We will also have elites from the six divisions participating in the one-day conference."

The conference is designed to unite youths to discuss developmental issues, share ideas, and prepare themselves to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Notably, the organising committee met with the Governor of the South West Region, Bernard Okalia Bilai, on Friday, May 23, 2025, to brief him on the upcoming event and their action plan.

Prior to this, the committee had visited the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako, Engelbert Viang Mekala; Limbe City Mayor, Paul Efome L.M. Ngale; and the President of the Regional Assembly, Bakoma Zacheus Elango.

All these officials pledged their full support for the conference, describing it as timely, and encouraged the organising committee to mobilise more youths in the region to participate massively.

At press time, the organising committee members are set to carry out courtesy visits to other top administrative authorities in the division.
