140th International Labour Day: Limbe I staff, Councillors join others in sports walk

Workers and Councillors of Limbe I Council joined other workers on Thursday, April 30, 2026 in a sport walk around major streets of Limbe in prelude to the 140th International Labour Day.
The sport walk led by the Fako Senio Divisional Officer of Fako Viang Mekala also had in attendance, Limbe City Mayor, Dr. Paul Efome L.M Ngale, DO for Limbe I Moni Innocent Njanje, Limbe I Mayor Mbwaye Eposi Florence among other top officers.
Limbe I Council staff and Councillors all dressed in their new tracksuits bought by the Mayor walked from SDO’s office Down Beach to Half Mile, New Town and back to SDO’s office.
Mayor Mbwaye Eposi Florence invited all his staff to massively participate at this walk which is organised by the Divisional Delegate of Labour and Social Security in prelude to the 140th edition of the International Labour Day 2026 to be commemorated by all workers under the theme, "social dialogue and decent work: factors of peace, national cohesion.
and economic development of the company."
The officials equally participated at the physical exercises led by officials of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education for Fako Division.
In her intervention, Mayor Mbwaye Eposi Florence said, "We are learning more and more that sport helps to preserve health”,
”So we have to do not only competitive sport, but sport to maintain our health. And I am glad that the workers and Councillors understand it more and more.”
