The Fako Divisional Bureau of the National Network of Young Parliamentarians (REJEPA) Cameroon, in partnership with the Limbe City Council and CAMTIK-Creators Festival Association, has once again demonstrated its commitment to education and excellence by awarding meritorious students of Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Limbe who excelled in the recent GCE examinations.

The ceremony, was held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the GBHS Limbe campus, honoured students who excelled in the 2026 GCE Ordinary and Advanced Levels.

Delivering his address on behalf of REJEPA and the City Mayor of Limbe, Dr. Paul Efome L.M Ngale, the Fako Divisional Coordinator of REJEPA, Hon. Adolf Elive Mwambo, congratulated the laureates and welcomed the entire student body back to school.

"Education is the only inheritance that no one can take from you. It is the only universal qualifier that causes the son and daughter of a palm wine tapper, a shoe maker, a buyam sellam to sit on the same platform with the son and daughter of a minister, a senator and a parliamentarian," Hon. Mwambo told the students.

He reminded students that GBHS Limbe has produced Ministers, Doctors, CEOs, Lawyers, Magistrates, Parliamentarians, and IT Engineers, urging them to be the next generation to take the relay baton of command with discipline, punctuality, loyalty and respect for the National flag.

The youth parliamentarian lauded the laureates for choosing excellence amidst enormous challenges facing Fako Division, including the Anglophone crisis, displacement and economic hardship.

“While some youths chose the wrong path of hard drug consumption, prostitution, violence and public disorder, you chose the library, the classroom, the quest for knowledge and wisdom to be great nation builders”,

“You have proven that Fako youths are not just victims of crisis, but victors of hope for a better Cameroon," he said.

Hon. Aldof Mwambo explained that REJEPA exists to build the capacity of young leaders, ensure youth voices are included in policy, and promote youth participation in peace-building and development.

He thanked the Limbe City Mayor, Dr. Paul Efome, and the CEO of CAMTIK, Mme Bah Miya, for patronizing the initiative, noting that the best investment Limbe can make is in the education of its children.

Hon. Aldof Mwambo told students that if their mates could make it, they too can do better, urging them to shun drug abuse, examination malpractice, idleness and to use their phones for research, not distraction.

He thanked the parents and teachers for their sacrifices and urging them to continue guiding the children to become better Cameroonians.

On her part, the Principal of GBHS Limbe, Madam Kale Singe, expressed profound gratitude to REJEPA, Limbe City Council and CAMTIK for the act of generosity.

“I’ll like to say that this act will motivate the students to learn better to improve on their skills so that they will also excel like their brothers and sisters,” she said.

She urged other students to be well-behaved, respect school rules and regulations, study hard, avoid drugs and shun acts of vandalism.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Nghia Victory Akwo appreciated REJEPA, Limbe City Council and CAMTIK for the gesture and promised to work harder to maintain academic excellence.

REJEPA continues to stand out as a pillar of educational support in Limbe, investing in the future of young Cameroonians.
