A nonprofit organization known as Ndome Foundation on Friday January 10, 2025 at Ewongo integrated health center in Buea Subdivision, South West Region, Cameroon launched her first phase of Ndome care mother and baby program.
Ndome Foundation gave pregnant women, mothers of newly born babies and health center kits comprises of hygiene essentials, buckets, help in the maintenance of water and installation of electricity in the health center.
Speaking during the event, the Director of programs, Anyi Asonganyi said they decided to give a token to new mothers and their babies.
She opined that with support and collaboration from the community they can build a better community.
“Ewongo community was chosen for the project launch due to the fact we saw the challenges they’re facing. We can relate to them as time goes on.”
Anyi Asonganyi emphasised that their focus is not only on the health center, but the entire Ewongo community “we want to start with the health center because health is wealth.”
“We’re launching the project today. We decided to start at the hospital to show how much we care and want the community to move forward” Anyi added.
She explained that they are ready to work with other communities to do bigger projects especially marginalized communities.
Quizzed on the way forward after the launching, Anyi Asonganyi said they are other projects in the pipeline for Ewongo village and other communities. “We will not stop at this stage, it’s just the beginning, we have so much to offer” Asonganyi added.
On his part, the Chief of Ewongo village, HRH Chief Esimboe Elive thanked Ndome Foundation for the support and largesse given to his community.
He encouraged Ndome Foundation not to relent their effort to assist the local population and the rural women.
HRH Chief Esimboe Elive is optimistic that with the coming of Ndome Foundation in his community things will get better.
“Ndome Foundation, the gate of of Ewongo and Wotutu are always open. We’re ready to work in collaboration with you” HRH Chief Esimboe Elive said.
During consultative talks, the population pleaded with Ndome Foundation to provide them with essential medicine in the health center, more street light, community hall among others.
It should be noted, Ndome Foundation mission to empower women and marginalized communities through education healthcare initiatives and community-driven programs, advancing equity and sustainable impact for all.
