Minister Motaze debunks claims of increased taxes

The Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze after launching of State Budget on Wednesday January 15, 2025 in Buea the following day he paid a courtesy visit to some Ministries in Buea namely; Buea Finance Complex where he meet with Regional Financial Controller and General Treasury and equally Buea Divisional Tax Centre.


In Limbe Louis Paul Motaze and his delegation made the first stop at Limbe Regional Tax Centre, Divisional Finance Controller, Divisional Treasury and South West.


Speaking shortly after his visit in Limbe, MINFI Minister, Louis Paul Motaze debunked increase the rumors about increase taxes “People think that there’s increase in taxes this is not true, the figures indicate that there’s no increase in taxes”,


“People should understand as well that they need road, school, hospitals among others and they don’t agree that we need to look for resources to realize what we want.” Louis Paul explained.


He added that the main reason of his visit in Limbe was to hear the challenges faced by collaborators and possible solutions to the problems.


“What, I discovered is that the situation is well. Their mindset is good when you see their results as far as the budget is concern, the figures are good but we can do more despite of the situation we know in our country.” Louis Paul said.


He urged his collaborators to increase their efforts in what they are doing” I told them that they have to be doing what they had been doing and redouble their efforts.” Louis Paul added.
