The Limbe III Council on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 adopted the sum of FCFA 800, 000,000 million as budget for the 2022 financial year with priority on housing scheme in 2022. This was during the second ordinary session of the council.
According to the Mayor for Limbe III, Nseke Luma Dibotti, the budget is balanced in both revenue and expenditure at the sum of FCFA 800,000,000 million. Recurrent revenue stands at FCFA 480,000,000 representing 60% while investment stands at FCFA 320,000,000 representing 40% of the budget investment expenditure stands FCFA 320,000,000 representing 40% of the budget and recurrent expenditure stands FCFA 480,000,000 making 60% of the budget.
The mayor cited some developmental projects realised in 2021 which includes; rehabilitation of GS Mabeta extension, construction of municipal apartments, construction of zoo-technical and veterinary center, rehabilitation of solar lighting within Limbe III municipality, rehabilitation and equipping of Kange health center among others.
“Our focus remains creating revenue sources to ensure a steady income. Despite the fact that factors such as poor road network have caused many setbacks we shall not relent our efforts”,
“After a very long battle there’s finally hope that we will see the realisation of the road project from Man O’ War Bay to Dikolo, we can’t hide our utmost satisfaction at the recent cancellation of the contract of Renaissance Enterprise. It’s our hope that the new contractor selected will complete the tarring,” Mayor Nseke Dibotti said.

He lamented that tax evaders have hampered economic development who take advantage of the socio-political crisis to evade taxes and the threat of Covid-19 to human life which have significant disrupts economic activities.
“We are certain the twenty-four apartments to be constructed shall significantly improve housing options, increase settlement and boost economic activities. MINDDEVEL allocation will
be used to construct more apartments at the housing complex. This should increase our income considerably,” announced Mayor Nseke Dibotti.
He added that the council will undertake some projects to revamp tourist attractions, especially with the upcoming AFCON 2021. Presently the council is carrying out some clean-up work at the slave trade site under the impetus of the Ministry of Art and Culture.
