The body of a young man has been recovered from the ocean in Kribi- South Region of Cameroon Monday 16 August, 2021, after he drowned three-3 days ago.
The victim Araphat as he was commonly called is reported to have left Douala to spend sometime in the town of Kribi with his aunt before returning .
The splendor of the ocean attracted him which is very obvious for every new comer in town because of it’s touristic venture.
Hence, Araphat paid a visit to the site but didn’t return home there after.
His uncle, Mr. Moussa , who had reported the case of his missing nephew to local radios and authorities found him out on the Ngoye beach .
He identified the corpse of the victim as he was drawn to the scene by the huge crowd which had gathered around a corpse washed to the shore by the waves.
After due inspection on the body, the victim corpse was handed over to the family by the police officials to proceed with burial.
The aunt of the victim, which Araphat went to kribi for her sake has not been able to get over the shock and so remained inconsolable.
This is just one of the series of drownings recorded and the latest in Kribi recently.
Locals holds that, some of the beaches in the town and of the Country in general are said to be highly unprotected and with little or no vigilant surveillance from due authorities or resort owners
